Knowledge | Templates & Extensions | Why Drupal

Drupal is an open-source content management system (CMS) that has been available since 2001 and is supported by a large community. It enables users to easily create and manage websites without requiring extensive programming knowledge.

Knowledge

Users must have fundamental knowledge of the Internet, such as file uploading and website editing, in order to use Drupal successfully. A basic understanding of HTML and CSS is beneficial, but it is not required. There are also many resources available to help users get started with Drupal, such as the official documentation and numerous tutorials on the internet.

Templates and Extensions

Drupal provides a large selection of pre-made templates (also known as themes) to assist users in designing appealing and user-friendly websites. There are also many extensions (also known as modules) that add new features such as formulas, user registration, and access control. These extensions and templates can be obtained from the Drupal community or through third-party vendors.

Why and when you should use Drupal

Drupal is ideal for creating websites with a large number of pages and content, such as online portals, news websites, and e-commerce sites. It also has expanded functions for managing users and access rights, making it an excellent choice for intranet-based websites and member portals. It is important to note, however, that Drupal is a more complex CMS than other options like as WordPress and Joomla, and so has a longer learning curve. It is best suited for those who are willing to devote time in the creation and management of their website.
